After having a successful run at the box office, a sequel has finally been confirmed by the studio. "Wonder Woman 2" will hit theaters on December 13, 2019. The announcement was made by Warner Bros earlier today following the momentum of the upcoming Justice League film where the full length trailer was released this past weekend at Comic-Con including the return of DC's iconic female superhero.
"Wonder Woman" star Gal Gadot is set to reprise her role as Diana of Themyscira where the first film's director Patty Jenkins is still in negotiations to helm the second installment.
Jenkins' "Wonder Woman" is still making its footprint at the box office, with over $389.7 million from North American theaters. It recently surpassed "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" to become the top domestic film of the summer movie season and the second-highest of the year, behind "Beauty and the Beast."
