It was today that Playboy Magazine Mogul, Hugh Hefner died at the age of 91 in his home at the iconic Playboy Mansion in Hollywood. Hefner aka "Hef", was a media and cultural pioneer advocating freedom of speech, civil rights and sexual freedom. His Playboy brand became one of the most iconic and recognizable lifestyle brands of our time.
Hugh Marston Hefner was born in Chicago. His parents were school teachers. Hefner enlisted in the Army after high school and became a copywriter for Esquire Magazine.
Last year, the Playboy Mansion was sold to Daren Metropoulos, the co-owner of Hostess Cakes(Known for their Twinkies brand) however the sale of the mansion included a provision that would allow Hefner to spend the rest of his living days at the mansion. Rest in Peace Hef!
